Description of the post: Driver - Embassy of Sri Lanka, Paris
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in France is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Embassy Driver. The successful applicant will be subjected to the terms and conditions of service of the Sri Lankan Embassy, as well as relevant labor laws and regulations of the French Republic.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Valid driving license.
- School leaving certificate and professional certificates.
- Extensive knowledge of traffic rules in France.
- Fluency in French and good knowledge of English (written & spoken)
- Two years driving experience.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours if required.
- Certificate of good conduct.
- Recommendation for exemplary work performance and at least one reference.
- Applicants with past experience as executive drivers will have an added advantage.
- A French Social Security number is required.
- The successful candidate must have the right to live and must hold valid residence permit to live and work in France.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction, control, and guidance of the Officer in Charge of Local Staff, the Embassy Driver will be responsible for:
- Driving assigned officers for their daily duties.
- Safe driving and abide by French Traffic rules and regulations.
- Maintaining the Embassy vehicle in good condition by keeping it clean, ensuring sufficient fuel, and performing regular services.
- Informing the officer in charge of local staff when the vehicle is due for a normal service / vehicle maintenance/running repairs.
- Driving the vehicle only when authorized.
- Recording movement in the running chart and updating monthly mileage records.
- Interacting with officers and Embassy guests professionally.
- Dressing professionally while on duty.
- Reporting any accidents/incidents related to vehicle to the officer in charge of local staff
- Performing any other referral duties assigned by the officer in charge of local staff
- Performing any other duties as directed by the Head of Mission or any responsible officer.
Contract : The post is renewable annually, under the terms of the contract. Statutory probation period of 06 months will be applicable.
Salary: The net salary will amount to €1,468.33 per month. Depending on the requirements, drivers are entitled to a maximum of 60 hours of overtime amounting to € 451.20 per month.
