Extension of Validity of Passport

Sri Lankan Passports are issued for a period of 10 years. Passports issued with five (05) years validity can be renewed up to a period of 10 years from the date of the first issue.

Validity of a passport which is over ten years from the date of issue cannot be further extended and the holder of such passport is expected to apply for a new passport.
